Ford ChangAn is a joint venture between Changan Automobile and Ford Motor Company. The plant, located in Chongqing, manufactures of Ford brand passenger cars for the Chinese market.
In 2015, WEBEN SMART had the opportunity to take part in the modernisation of the welding line. WEBEN SMART has retrofited the welding line of the Ford Focus (C307) and Ford EcoSport (B515).
One of the welding cell has been modified by replacing the 4 existing robots with 6 new KUKA robots. Beside the replacement of robots, we upgrade the layout and performance of the equipment thanks to simulation and commissioning. It allowed us to improve the cycle time from 150 seconds to 120 seconds, ensure better quality and reduce labor cost.
